Joe Blizzard is a technologist and small-business owner who believes the tools that make a home run smoothly can make a country run smoothly too. The Great Reinvention is his blueprint for that: reclaim what government wastes, automate what it does badly, and reinvest the savings in people.
He is the founder of Blizzard Technology, which designs smart homes around the Apple ecosystem and manages technology for small businesses, and of Blizzard Studios, its creative side. In Bolton Landing, on Lake George, he is a co-owner of Basecamp, a mercantile he created with John Lasalandra and Chris Moriarty, and of Luxury Lake George, a collection of lakefront vacation homes. He also builds the websites and tools behind local projects like the Bolton Landing Holiday Home Tour.
Before Lake George he spent years in Austin, Texas, where Blizzard Technology began. The common thread in everything he does is efficiency with a human face: systems that work quietly in the background so people can get on with living.
